You're about to walk through the neighbourhood where Descartes rests, Delacroix painted, Sartre overthought, and Hemingway ran up bar tabs. Eleven stops, in order, from the Pont des Arts to a green chair in the Luxembourg Gardens — about 2.5 km of flat, cobblestoned strolling in 90–120 minutes. Starts on the Pont des Arts (Métro: Pont Neuf line 7, or Louvre–Rivoli line 1). Ends in the Luxembourg Gardens (Métro Odéon lines 4 & 10, or RER B Luxembourg). Best in the morning (9–11am) for quiet streets and open bakeries, or late afternoon into golden hour. Add time for the Mazarine Library (free, +20 min), the Delacroix Museum (9€, +45 min), and the optional Grande Épicerie detour.
